Our history
Grandmaster Steve Bruhn has been teaching Taekwondo in Martin County for more than 30 years. The school was built on the training Grandmaster K.C. Chung brought with him, and that same curriculum, the same belt system, and the same respect for the art are still taught here today.
Students who started as kids at our school have come back years later with kids of their own, training in the same dojang, learning the same forms.
Grandmaster Steve Bruhn and Grandmaster Tom Rusotto
Grandmaster Steve Bruhn and Grandmaster Tom Rusotto started their Taekwondo training in 1983 under the direction of 9th degree Grandmaster K.C. Chung. Both currently hold the rank of 8th Dan black belt through the World Taekwondo Federation and the Korean Moo Duk Kwon.
Alongside their martial arts training, both are certified fitness instructors through Florida Atlantic University.
More than kicks and punches
Every class works the body and the mind. Students learn forms, sparring, and self-defense, but they also learn to listen, to push through a hard class, and to help the student next to them.
All belt testings are scheduled in advance and we welcome friends and family members to attend and watch our students progress.
Our mission extends beyond physical techniques; we also support parents in raising confident leaders, enhancing self-esteem, promoting health, and achieving physical fitness. At KC Chung Taekwondo, we provide a safe, comfortable, and welcoming atmosphere for all students and family members. And we take pride in fostering an environment where individuals can achieve, develop, and succeed in their personal goals.
Part of Martin County
Generations of Stuart families have trained here, some starting as kids and coming back years later with kids of their own. Testing days, camps, and demonstrations bring the whole school together in our dojang and beyond.
